SOLUTION:
In partnership with the engineering firm hired by the First Hospitality Group, Barthenheier excavated beneath the existing foundation system in two locations to determine if wood pilings are present and, if so, their condition.
RESULT:
Barthenheier’s sub-surface investigation determined that there are no wood pilings supporting the foundation. Results of the exploration also indicated that the sub-soils are of extremely hard clay, and sufficient to support the loads to which it is subjected. Documentation, photos, and an engineer’s report provided confirmation. The future owner was pleased to receive this information and it allowed them to proceed with their anticipated purchase.
