OBJECTIVE:
Addition of five line shaft bases for bearing blocks, performed during two 3-day shutdown windows to minimize downtime.
SOLUTION:
Concrete bases were formed and poured during the first shutdown period, leaving enough time for other contractors to set their bearing blocks. During the second shutdown, Barthenheier poured epoxy in voids between previously poured concrete and bearing blocks, leaving enough time for other contractors to set bearings and set up line shaft.
